Her mother, Christina Staehelin Silvers, is an architect, and her father is a psychiatrist. Diana's passion for acting was ignited at the age of 12 after watching the film "What's Eating Gilbert Grape." She began attending theatre camps and later enrolled at Palisades Charter High School, where she played tennis. Pursuing her interest in the arts, she attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts to study acting but later switched her major to history with a minor in film. She eventually left NYU during her junior year in 2017. ​

Diana's modeling career began in her teens when she was scouted by IMG Models in 2015 through the Instagram hashtag #WeLoveYourGenes. She has since worked with renowned brands and appeared in editorials for magazines such as Vogue India, Marie Claire, and Elle UK. In 2019, she notably closed Stella McCartney's Autumn show.
